It was Indira Gandhi's birth anniversary when India lost World Cup final, says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that India lost the cricket World Cup final because it was played on Indira Gandhi's birth anniversary. He accused the opposition parties of being in collusion with those against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sarma urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ensure that future finals are not scheduled on the birthday of a member of the Nehru-Gandhi family. He also criticized the Congress party for appeasing one section of society and called for a change of government in Telangana.
