Gwalior -city of Tansen - makes it to coveted UNESCO list

Gwalior, a city in Madhya Pradesh, India, has been included in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network under the music category. Known for its contribution to the Dhrupad form of singing and the Gwalior gharana of classical music, Gwalior has been recognized for its commitment to culture and creativity in urban planning. The city hosts the Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, one of India's biggest music festivals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other government officials have lauded Gwalior's inclusion in the network.
