Maharashtra assembly starts; newly-elected MLAs take oath

A special session of the Maharashtra legislative assembly began on Wednesday morning to administer oath to members in the 288-member House. Pro-tem speaker Kalidas Kolambkar administered the oath to the legislators. Among those sworn in early were Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ashok Chavan and Prithviraj Chavan. Names of members were called out on basis of seniority.
