UP: 44 killed in rain-related incidents, warning of more showers over weekend

Forty-four people were killed in rain-related incidents in UP in the past 24 hours, officials said on Friday. ​​Administration of Lucknow, Amethi, Hardoi & some others districts announced closure of schools on Saturday. CM Yogi Adityanath asked the officials to extend monetary help of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of those killed & also arrange treatment for the injured.
