Second batch of Amarnath pilgrims start journey

The second batch comprising 4,417 pilgrims left in a fleet of 142 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here for Pahalgam and Baltal. For the Pahalgam route, 2,800 pilgrims left the base camp, while 1,617 pilgrims for Baltal left in buses and light motor vehicles, which were escorted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), officials said.

SC dismisses PIL to earmark PoK and Gilgit as Lok Sabha seats

The Supreme Court dismissed a PIL seeking a direction to the Centre to earmark and declare PoK and Gilgit as parliamentary seats. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on former RAW official Ram Kumar Yadav for filing the petition and termed it "legally untenable". The plea said as many as 24 assembly seats have been carved out by the govt from PoK and Gilgit.

Chopper scare for Alwar MP
