VVPAT slips: SC grants week's time to opposition parties to file affidavit

The Supreme Court on Monday granted time till April 8 to 21 opposition parties to file their reply to the Election Commission's affidavit on counting of VVPAT slips. The opposition parties have filed a petition in the SC seeking that VVPAT slips of at least 50% of voting machines in each assembly constituency be checked randomly in the Lok Sabha elections.

Isro’s PSLV-C45 places DRDO intelligence satellite Emisat in orbit, mission continues

Around 17 minutes after lift-off, PSLV placed Emisat in an orbit in a 753.6km altitude. In the course of the next 1.5 hours, the launch vehicle’s fourth and final stage -- PS4 --- will be restarted and shut down twice, as the rocket manoeuvres to a 504km orbit. The PS4 will place in orbit 28 foreign satellites belonging to the US, Lithuania, Spain and Switzerland.

PSLV-C45 will blast off from Sriharikota at 9.27am

The countdown began at 6.27 am on Sunday for the launch on board Indian Space Research Organisation's third generation workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), in its 47th flight, Isro said. The four-stage PSLV-C45 will blast off from the second launch pad at the spaceport of Sriharikota at 9.27am on Monday, agency officials said.
